Twenty-five years ago, Andrea said “I can’t live like this anymore.”
That was the beginning.
Rescuing Hidden Hearts may not be the end. But it’s pretty close.
Over the last twenty-five years, Andrea and I have engaged in warfare—a battle we both waged against forces that were trying to destroy our marriage. Forces like:
· My Addiction
· Hidden Lies and Hidden Lives
· Warped Self Image
· Generational Curses
The fact that we are now in the fifth decade of our marriage … the fact that we often tell ourselves, and others, that this is the sweetest season of our marriage … is a testimony:
· To God’s Unending Love and Faithfulness
· To the Powerful Prayers of a Courageous Woman
· To My Promise Twenty-Five Years Ago
o I Will Do Whatever It Takes …
Rescuing Hidden Hearts is not only the story of the battles we fought to rescue our marriage, but it is also the stories of twenty-one courageous men and women who open their lives and their hearts in sharing their struggles. Most importantly, Rescuing Hidden Hearts provides a way—an answer—to the question of how do we survive the wounds of the past to live a rich life in the present.
Our hope is that the entries on this blog will be resources of hope for others who are fighting similar battles for their marriage, others who are determined to be set free from generational curses. Because miracles still happen. Because Rescue is still part of God's plan for us.
